Course Objectives
- Discuss how hormones effect bone metabolism and who is most at risk for developing osteoporosis.
- Review the role of calcium, vitamin D, phosphorous and phytoestrogens in bone metabolism.
- List current pharmacological therapies available for the prevention and treatment of osteopenia and osteoporosis.
- Design a fall prevention program.
- Design an exercise plan for strengthening the muscles of the upper back to reduce kyphosis.
