Heather Brady, PhD, RD is a faculty member at the University of Colorado. Heather received her PhD in Nutritional Epidemiology from the University of Colorado at Denver and Health Sciences Center. She has a Master of Science degree in Kinesiology from Kansas State University and Bachelor of Science degrees in both Nutrition and Biology. Dr. Brady has actively been involved in patient care for over seven years with a specialty in weight loss, cardiac rehab, and oncology. Her research interests include nutrition, alternative medicine and physical activity as they pertain to chronic disease prevention.                                                                                                                                                      
     In addition to her academic interests, Heather enjoys volleyball, cycling, and running, particularly marathon distances. She has a special interest in sports nutrition and often helps coach individuals who are training for their first marathon or running event.
 
Richard Fine, Ph.D., R.M.T., A.P.F.T. holds a doctorate in Guidance & Counseling, and runs his own consulting/physical training business, LifeStyle Innovations. LifeStyle Innovations puts into practice many of the key precepts of the science of happiness, teaching clients how to define and meet their goals, improve their lives from the inside out, and enjoy growth regardless of their personal starting point. Dr. Fine is an expert Kayak Instructor, Outdoor Adventure guide, Advanced Fitness Trainer, and Massage Therapist specializing in dealing with chronic pain, arthritis, fibromyalgia, and cancer.
 
Ginger Schirmer, PhD, RD, RYT obtained her doctoral degree in Nutrition with a specialty in biochemistry from Auburn University and a Masters of Science in Exercise Science from Georgia State University. Dr. Schirmer is a nationally recognized speaker and lectures extensively to physicians, nursing professionals, pharmacists, and other health professionals and has authored several educational books.
     Dr. Schirmer has written over 80 educational courses for medical professionals including this course. She has been an invited nutrition expert for TV and radio news shows nationally. Prior to lecturing professionally, Dr. Schirmer was a university professor and worked as a clinical dietitian for 5 years and has many years experience as a nutrition and fitness expert.
 
Mary Seger, PhD, NP is a Nurse Practitioner PhD with an Integrative Medicine Practice at Otsego Memorial Hospital. She is certified as a Menopause Practitioner through the North American Menopause Society. Dr. Seger is also certified as a Perfect Health Teacher, an exploration of mind/body medicine and Ayurveda, through the Chopra Center for Wellbeing. Dr. Seger has written the book Invite Joy Into Your Life ~ Steps for Women Who Want to Rediscover the Simple Pleasures of Living. Mary is a national speaker on topics including Peri-Menopause and Menopause; Anxiety and Depression; Heart Disease in Women; Botanical Medicine and Finding Joy In Your Life based on her book.
 
Annell St. Charles, PhD, RD (Author only) obtained her B.S. in Behavioral Psychology, her M.S. in Public Health Nutrition, and her Ph.D. in Nutrition Science, with minors in Exercise Physiology and Applied Behavioral Analysis. She has over 30 years of experience providing clinical and educational services in these areas.
     Dr. St. Charles professional expertise has focused primarily on health promotion and disease prevention. She has authored a book that addresses nutrition, supplements, and lifestyle change towards the aim of improving health and well-being. She has also published three continuing education booklets for health professionals on Dietary Supplements, The Cancer Prevention Diet, and Organic Foods. In addition, she is a nationally recognized speaker and has presented numerous seminars to medical professionals on women’s health, mind-body medicine, hormones, inflammation, weight management, diabetes, heart disease, exercise therapy, and other topics. 
 
Gina Willett, PhD, RD  (Author only) obtained a Master's Degree in Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine and a Doctoral Degree in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She also received a Master's Degree in Health Education from the University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma City. Dr. Willlett served as an officer in the United States Air force, working both as a clinical dietitian and a health promotion coordinator. Dr. Willett has also held the position of assistant professor at the University of Richmond in Virginia. She has a research background in the prevention of chronic degenerative diseases of aging.
     Dr. Willett has been lecturing nationally to health professionals for the past 10 years. Her areas of expertise include: nutrition, weight management, insulin resistance, diabetes and chronic degenerative diseases of aging.
