2-hour On-Demand: The Shoulder: Maintaining Function

Course Description & Information:
- This 2 hr webinar will provide the participant with an overview of anatomy, biomechanics and common pathology of the shoulder joint. It will cover basic exam techniques and special tests. Posture and the importance of the hips and core in relation to the shoulder will be discussed. Treatment strategies for the shoulder will be presented as will a wide array of therapeutic exercises that go beyond the sub acute phase.

Course Objectives:
- Review muscle and bony anatomy.
- Review and identify common pathology of the shoulder.
- Discuss facial connections that link shoulder, trunk and hips.
- Differentiate clinical complaints between instability, impingement and rotator cuff.
- Review basic exam techniques.
- Review special tests used to assist in clinical diagnosis.
- Discuss treatment approaches for acute, subacute and beyond subacute phases of rehabilitation.
Learning Outcome: At least 80% of class participants will score 70% or greater on course post-test.
