Course Description & Information:

  • Male menopause is the term used to describe symptoms associated with androgen (testosterone) decline in the aging male, or what some people call low testosterone. Men do experience a decline in the production of the male hormone testosterone with aging, but this also occurs with conditions such as diabetes. Along with the decline in testosterone, some men experience symptoms that include fatigue, weakness, depression, and sexual problems. This seminar covers the role of testosterone in men’s health and the health problems that can occur in men who experience a significant decline testosterone.

  • Define “andropause”.
  • Describe at least 2 physiological functions of testosterone in males.
  • List at least 2 signs and 2 symptoms of testosterone deficiency.
  • List and discuss at least 2 health risks associated with declining testosterone levels.
  • Describe the current guidelines for diagnosing and treating “andropause”.
  • Discuss dietary, exercise, herbal remedies, and stress management guidelines for andropause.
