This course reviews the research on exercise in disease prevention/treatment and the appropriate exercise recommendations based on age and health status.

Course Objectives:

  • Identify the role of exercise in the regulation of glucose and insulin to treat and/or prevent prediabetes and diabetes (type 2).
  • Identify the role of exercise in cardiovascular disease, diabetes, arthritis and other medical conditions.
  • Compare exercise therapy to conventional drug therapy on risk reduction in metabolic disorders.
