Course Objectives:

  • Identify the process of drug absorption and give an example of how food may impact absorption.
  • State how grapefruit juice influences drug metabolism.
  • Identify the most common food/nutrient-drug interactions.
  • Review common herb-drug interactions.
  • List available resources for identifying common drug-nutrient and drug-herb interactions.
  • Identify techniques to avoid and minimize drug-nutrient interactions.

Learning Outcome: At least 80% of class participants will score 70% or greater on course post-test.
