- One in 110 children in the United States is being diagnosed with Autism. Parents are seeking alternative approaches in treating and working with their children. This course covers the most commonly used diets in the treatment of autism and the research that has been conducted for the different diets. Intermediate level.

Course Objectives:
- Review the data on the efficacy of nutritional therapy in the management/treatment of autism spectrum disorder.
- Discuss the common dietary interventions used and the scientific evidence of their usage for treatment of autism.
- Discuss dietary supplements that have been used as a treatment or adjunct therapy in the treatment of autism and the efficacy of treatment.
- Identify the role of the gut microbiota in autism symptomology.
- List common nutritional deficiencies found in children with autism.
