  • Menopause presents new challenges in women's health including menopausal symptoms, bone loss, and increased risk of heart disease. This seminar looks at the health issues of menopause and the role of hormone replacement therapy in women's health.

Course Objectives:

  • Discuss current options for hormone replacement therapy (HRT) including dosage options, formulations and delivery methods.
  • Define the terms natural hormones and bioidentical hormone therapy.
  • List alternative therapies in the treatment of menopause.
  • Discuss current research on HRT and cardiovascular disease.
  • Discuss current research on HRT and cancer risk.
  • Identify the relationship between postmenopausal hormone changes and thyroid disease.
  • List the current research on hormones and bone health.
