Course Objectives

  • Review how to interpret a Nutrition Facts Panel for to meet the dietary needs of patient with diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
  • Learn strategies for buying items that are high in fiber, low in sugar and reducing the amount of high fructose corn syrup in the diet.

Course Description

  • The Nutrition Facts panel provides useful information in determining the nutritional quality of a product especially for those with diabetes, heart disease or other metabolic disorders. This course teaches how to read the nutrition facts panel to advise patients how to make educated choices about what they purchase. Education level: Beginner.
