Course Objectives:

  • List IOM weight gain recommendations during pregnancy.
  • Discuss vitamin and mineral recommendations for preconception, pregnancy, and lactation.
  • List dietary recommendations for treating nausea and hyperemesis during pregnancy.
  • Discuss nutritional concerns for vegetarians and how to modify diet to avoid nutritional deficiencies.
  • Discuss food safety guidelines during pregnancy and lactation and list foods that should be avoided.
