Course Description & Information:
- Arthritis will effect most all Americans as they age. Not everyone with arthritis will have symptoms but some will have significant arthritis to impair normal daily activities. This course covers current strategies for the management of joint health thru diet, exercise and if needed, drug therapy.

- Nursing Pharmacy Hours: 3 contact hours.
Course Objectives :
- Identify nutritional and exercise interventions that have been shown to improve and maintain joint health .
- Discuss the role of exercise, trauma and genetics in the development of osteoarthritis .
- Review current treatment options for rheumatoid arthritis (e.g. drug therapy, dietary supplements, exercise), and osteoarthritis of the hips and knees.
- List current options in the management of fibromyalgia (e.g. vitamin D, exercise).
- Review current strategies to maintain bone health and prevent and/or treat osteoporosis.
