Course Description:

  • This course is designed to enhance the participants understanding and working knowledge of the foot and ankle. Through review and discussion of the anatomy and biomechanics the course will relate common foot and ankle injuries and discuss exercises to assist in the functional rehabilitation.

Course Objectives :

  • Identify function of the foot.
  • Identify the foot/ankle bony anatomy.
  • Review foot/ankle ligamentous and muscle anatomy.
  • Define & discuss pronation and supination.
  • Review the gait cycle.
  • Discuss the consequences of overpronation.
  • Discuss finding subtalar neutral to assess the rear foot and forefoot.
  • Discuss common foot/ankle injuries and exercises for rehabilitation.
