Course Description & Information:
- Exercise has been shown to play a pivotal role in the treatment/prevention of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, arthritis and other medical conditions. This course reviews the research on exercise in disease prevention/treatment and the appropriate exercise recommendations based on age and health status.

Course Objectives:
- Identify the role of exercise in the regulation of glucose and insulin to treat and/or prevent prediabetes and diabetes (type 2).
- Identify the role of exercise in cardiovascular disease, diabetes, arthritis and other medical conditions.
- Compare exercise therapy to conventional drug therapy on risk reduction in metabolic disorders.
Learning Outcome: At least 80% of class participants will score 70% or greater on course post-test.
