Course Objectives

  • Discuss the different types of fat and how they function as an endocrine organ.
  • Discuss the role of visceral adipose tissue in heart disease, diabetes, and hypertension.

Course Description

  • Participants will learn the physiological effects of visceral fat on health. Specific topics will include the connection between visceral adipose tissue (VAT) and heart disease and insulin resistance. Additionally, how to reduce VAT will be covered. Education level - beginner to intermediate.
